How to Configure Palworld Server and Gameplay

This guide explains how to configure a Palworld server on Raznar through the PalWorldSettings.ini file, covering the server name, password, leveling speed (EXP), Pal capture rate, and death penalty.

Important Things Before Editing

There are two important things to keep in mind when editing Palworld server settings:

  1. The Initial File Is Usually Empty: On first open, the PalWorldSettings.ini file is usually still empty. An example configuration is available in the DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini file in the server's main folder.
  2. Must Be One Long Line: Everything inside OptionSettings=(...) must stay on one continuous line without pressing Enter. If a line breaks, the server will ignore your changes and revert to the default settings.

Step 1: Open the PalWorldSettings.ini File

  1. Open your browser and log in to the Raznar panel.
  2. Go to the Console menu, then click Stop (the server must be offline before editing files).
  3. Open the Files menu, then go to the folder:
    Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/
  4. Click the PalWorldSettings.ini file to edit it.

Step 2: Enter the Configuration Code

Copy and paste the following basic format into the PalWorldSettings.ini file:

[/Script/Pal.PalGameWorldSettings]
OptionSettings=(Difficulty=None,ServerName="Server Palworld Raznar",ServerDescription="Selamat Datang di Server Kami",ServerPassword="",AdminPassword="PasswordAdmin123",ServerPlayerMaxNum=32,ExpRate=1.000000,PalCaptureRate=1.000000,PalSpawnNumRate=1.000000,DeathPenalty=None,BaseCampWorkerMaxNum=15,bEnableInvaderEnemy=True,PalEggDefaultHatchingTime=72.000000,bAllowClientMod=True)

(Make sure everything from OptionSettings=(... to the closing parenthesis ) stays on the same line).

Settings That Are Commonly Changed

You only need to change the values inside the parentheses to suit your needs:

1. Server Information & Security

  • ServerName="Your Server Name": The server name shown in the server list.
  • ServerDescription="Description": The description text for your server.
  • ServerPassword="": The password required to join the server (leave the quotes empty "" if the server is public with no password).
  • AdminPassword="AdminPassword": The password for admin commands in-game.
  • ServerPlayerMaxNum=32: The maximum number of players that can be online at the same time.

2. Death Penalty

Determines what happens to players' items when their character dies:

  • DeathPenalty=None: No penalty at all. Items and Pals stay safe in the inventory (the most relaxed and popular option).
  • DeathPenalty=Item: Only looted items drop on the ground (weapons and armor stay safe on the character).
  • DeathPenalty=ItemAndEquipment: All items, weapons, and armor drop on the ground.
  • DeathPenalty=All: All items, weapons, armor, and party Pals drop as well (the game's default).

3. Progression Speed & Pal Capture

  • ExpRate=1.000000: EXP multiplier. Set it to a higher number (for example 2.000000 or 3.000000) so players and Pals level up faster.
  • PalCaptureRate=1.000000: Success chance when throwing a Pal Sphere. Set it to 1.500000 or 2.000000 to make Pals easier to catch.
  • PalSpawnNumRate=1.000000: Wild Pal density in the world (can be set up to 3.000000 if you want a world filled with more Pals).
  • PalEggDefaultHatchingTime=72.000000: Incubator egg hatching time (in real-time hours). Set it to 0.000000 if you want eggs to hatch instantly.

4. Bases & Convenience

  • BaseCampWorkerMaxNum=15: The maximum number of worker Pals at a base (can be increased to 20).
  • bEnableInvaderEnemy=True: Enemy raids on your base. Set it to False if you want your base to stay calm and safe from enemy attacks.
  • bAllowClientMod=True: Allows players who install visual mods on their PC to join the server.

Step 3: Save and Start the Server

  1. Click the Save File button at the bottom of the panel editor.
  2. Go to the Console menu, then click Start.
  3. The server will start running with the new settings you configured.
Settings Not Changing?

If your server is the result of migrating an old save and the settings refuse to change, check your save folder at: Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/<Save-ID>/

Delete the file named WorldOption.sav if it exists. This file contains leftover world settings that override PalWorldSettings.ini. After deleting it and restarting the server, the server will read your latest settings.
